Greetings, HIA Fellows!

I hope this finds you all well. After Laurene's kind introductory emails and the blog's launch, I wanted to take a brief moment to let you all know how thrilled and fortunate I feel to serve as an additional resource during your upcoming fellowship in Lyon.

I can assure you all that you are in for a truly impactful experience. I had the good fortune to be an HIA Fellow in the Berlin program in 2008. My experience in Berlin and within the HIA network would later influence my graduate school selection, studies, and the practical experiences I would pursue. But, equally important, the fellowship's fruitful and intense conversations forged deep and real friendships that have maintained since the summer of 2008. This is true: I met several fellows five years ago with whom I speak on a daily basis. I'm excited to help you all navigate the summer in any way that I'm able.

I'll be joining you all in Lyon after earning my law degree in mid May and living, off and on, in the city of Chicago since 2008. While in law school, I was fortunate to study for two years in Geneva and Paris and for a semester in the Hague. In addition to an abiding interest in telecommunications law and policy, I intend to write and teach on the subjects of constitutional law and social movements. The weeks we'll spend in France will be a great return to a country I've lived in several times over the years.
I've never been more excited about an upcoming stint there, though, because of all of the stories and experiences we are soon bound to share.

Good luck to all of you staring down final examinations and lengthy papers. I very much look forward to putting names to faces!

Sincerely,
Corey
